Since 2008, Consequence Forum has been dedicated to addressing the human consequences of war and geopolitical violence in order to promote a clearer and more nuanced understanding of what’s at stake in choosing to wage war or engage in conflict. We do this through offering multitude of platforms that include a literary journal, a website, a Substack blog, editing services, and a half dozen social media outlets.

Journal subscriptions alone aren’t enough to cover all that we do. We rely on generous donations to help support our publications, programs, and mission.

Please consider making a 100% tax-deductible gift of any amount TODAY!

If you wish to donate by check, please make it payable to Consequence Forum and mail to PO Box 164, Iowa City, IA 52244.

*Supporters whose donations total $250 or more in a year will receive a complimentary one-year subscription to our print journal.

Wall of Honor

Our Wall of Honor invites supporters of Consequence Forum to offer the names of those in their lives—living or deceased—who have been impacted by war or geopolitical violence: veterans and active military, their families, civilian witnesses, journalists, victims, refugees, and so on. To further recognize these individuals, supporters may provide a bio of the honoree, which will also be displayed on the wall.

If you’d prefer not to submit an honoree with your gift, please use the donation form directly above. Thank you.

Thank You!

We are grateful to all of our journal and forum contributors, donors, allies, volunteers, partner organizations, and corporate and foundation supporters. You and your support are why and how we are able to do all that we do.

Consequence Forum is a 501(c)(3) registered in MA and all gifts are tax-deductible according to the extent of the law. Federal tax ID#: 27-0727456.

Volunteer Opportunities

We are always looking for volunteers with a passion for our mission and experience in the nonprofit and arts worlds. Because we are a 501(c)(3), we rely on dedicated people to give a few hours of their time each month. People who’ve volunteered with us in the past include retirees, those who want to gain professional experiences, or folks who simply want to be part of a worthy cause.

Community Partnership

We actively seek partnerships with companies, organizations, and individuals who align with our mission. From years of experience, we know that through collaboration, voices become louder, reach becomes greater, and projects become stronger for everyone involved.

Student Internship

Our founder was big on helping young professionals so developed an internship program with UMass Boston, where students worked a few hours each week—learning publishing, marketing, or nonprofit skills—and would receive class credit. We’re trying to expand this for-credit program, so if you know of a school that might be interested in partnering with us, please let us know.

Card to Culture Program

We are proud to participate in Mass Cultural Council’s Card to Culture program in collaboration with the Dept. of Transitional Assistance, the Dept. of Public Health’s WIC Nutrition Program, and the MA Health Connector by making cultural programming accessible to those for whom cost is a participation barrier. To receive a 50% discount on either our Substack, an e-copy of our latest issue, or a workshop, please email us at info@consequenceforum.org.
